Gallery owner Matthew Beeby has had a passion for art, creativity, and design for as long as he can remember.

“I believe I inherited this from my mum Gillian, who was a prolific collector of fine paintings. I remember she had an impeccable eye.”

“My own influences include artists such as Alfred Sisley, Edouard Manet, Paul Cezanne, Edward Seago, and Michael Ashcroft, plus many more… “Art is in the eye of the beholder, and people appreciate different styles just as I do.”

Whilst talking with a fellow artist and creating ideas for an exhibition, it was decided by Matthew that…

“Actually, I’m going to do this on a more permanent basis, I want to provide a gallery.”

Matthew’s vision for the gallery is to create a space where unique and exclusive pieces can be enjoyed and appreciated, by both collectors and visitors alike.

Having been fortunate enough to have his own work displayed in some leading galleries, he has taken inspiration from them, and together with his own design thoughts, The Beeby Gallery has come to fruition.

Matthew has worked plein air with some amazing artists such as Ed Robinson and the Members of the Wapping Group, including Andy Lee.

‘It’s great to work together and be in an environment where we can all learn from each other.”

The Gallery shows works of other internationally known artists such as Ed Robinson, Andy Lee, Martin Williams, Ian McManus, Peter Keegan and others.

“It’s a privilege to be able to show these pieces”

It’s a petite and well-thought-out space, with which Matthew hopes to have achieved something unique and special that Olney can be proud of.
